The city of Hemet has closed the Stetson Bridge between Cawston and Warren, near the airport due to deterioration and concern for public safety. There is not an estimated time on repairs or re-opening at this time.
Caltrans has reported that the extensive damage on the 243 Banning Side and the 74 from Hemet have extended the estimated closures to last up to four months. Ongoing damage continues to be identified and is part of the repair process. A Town Hall meeting is on schedule at the Idyllwild School on March 18, 2019, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. for those wishing to attend.
Our ongoing appreciation goes to the Hemet Unified School District Transportation Department and our Safety and Risk Management Department for their support to student and staff safety during these times of closures. The extensive work and response by the city, county, and state agencies are appreciated.
